Recycling Advanced Electrical Components in Arc Raiders: What It Really Means

In Arc Raiders, Advanced Electrical Components are one of the rarest and most important crafting materials you’ll encounter. They show up in specific “Electrical” loot zones, can be crafted at a Refiner, and are required for a surprising number of high‑end items. Yet their recycle value — and the decision of whether to recycle them — isn’t always obvious without a little numbers and context.

What You Get When You Recycle One

If you break down (recycle) an Advanced Electrical Component at your hideout’s Recycler, you receive:

  • 1 × Electrical Components
  • 1 × Wires

On the face of it, that might look useful: after all, Electrical Components and Wires are used in a lot of lower‑tier crafting. But here’s the math side:

  • A single Electrical Components has a base value of ~640 Raider Coins
  • A Wires has a value of ~200 Raider Coins
  • Together that’s ~840 Raider Coins’ worth of materials
  • But the original Advanced Electrical Component has a base value of 1,750 Raider Coins

In other words, recycling an Advanced Electrical Component only returns about half of its economic value in raw parts — and you lose the rest entirely. For most players, that means recycling is a last‑resort, not the default choice.

It’s worth noting too that items like Tactical Mk. 3 or Combat Mk. 3 augments — which use Advanced Electrical Components in their crafting — are often much more valuable as finished items than the components you get back from recycling.

Why You Usually Shouldn’t Recycle Them

There are three big reasons to hold on to Advanced Electrical Components instead of breaking them down:

  1. Workshop Progression: Many higher‑tier hideout upgrades — like leveling the Utility Station or Gear Bench — require several Advanced Electrical Components.
  2. High‑Tier Gear: Nearly all level‑3 modules (Combat, Tactical, Looting) use these components in their recipes, and these modules often outperform many alternatives.
  3. Future Requirements: Expedition projects and certain quests list Advanced Electrical Components as milestones you must deliver, meaning recycling them can derail your progress.

This overall context is why many community guides even advise players to avoid recycling them until absolutely necessary.

When Recycling Makes Sense

There are edge cases where recycling does make sense:

  • You have surplus components beyond what you need for crafting or workshop upgrades
  • You’re desperate for Electrical Components or Wires to build a specific item right now
  • A particular run didn’t go well and you need base mats more than rare ones

The decision shouldn’t be automatic. Look at your crafting queue first, then decide based on what you actually need — not what you could get if you broke things down.

A Quick Tip for Resource Strategy

If you ever feel personally annoyed that you have too many Advanced Electrical Components in stash, that’s usually a good problem — it means you’re playing efficiently and collecting what the game demands for progression. It’s also why many players look up U4N, buy arc raiders blueprints early: having better blueprints lets you spend materials faster on things that matter, instead of hoarding them forever.

Case Study: Recycling Loss in Action

Suppose you have 10 Advanced Electrical Components:

  • Recycling all 10 yields 10 Electrical Components + 10 Wires
  • Total material value: ~8,400 Raider Coins
  • But the original 10 components were worth 17,500 Raider Coins

So you’ve effectively lost ~9,100 Raider Coins’ worth of resources just by recycling. That’s over 50% value destruction, and it’s before you even count the utility those original components had in crafting high‑end gear.

That’s why most high‑level players will stall recycling until late game, or never touch certain batches at all.

Recycling Advanced Electrical Components is an option, but it’s rarely smart. Unless you’re absolutely desperate for wires or basic electrical parts, it’s usually better inventory management to hold on to them for key crafting and workshop tasks. The numbers simply show that the cost of recycling often outweighs the immediate benefit.

If you think about this material as insurance for future gear upgrades, you’ll save a lot of time and frustration later in your Raider career.
