NBA 2K27 players have received a major surprise ahead of launch, as 2K has moved the Early Access date forward and given eligible players a valuable head start. For those planning to build a strong MyTEAM squad from day one, NBA 2K27 VC can help you acquire top players and improve your lineup faster. With Early Access approaching, here’s everything you need to know about the new date, start time, and editions required to play early.

New Early Access Date
NBA 2K27 Early Access now begins on August 26, 2026, at 9:00 AM PT, according to the official NBA 2K27 store page. That means eligible players can get into the game up to nine days before the worldwide launch on September 4.

The updated schedule is a significant change from the previously announced August 28 Early Access date. The earlier launch gives dedicated players more time to build their MyPLAYER, explore MyCAREER, start MyTEAM progression, and learn the new gameplay systems before the standard edition becomes available.

Who Can Play Early?
To access Early Access, players need to purchase an eligible Deluxe Edition or Ultra Edition of NBA 2K27. Standard Edition owners must wait until September 4 for the full release.

Early Access is available across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2, although edition availability can vary by region.

NBA 2K27 Early Access Times
The official Early Access start time is 9:00 AM PT on August 26. For players in Singapore, that converts to 12:00 AM SGT on August 27. Other major times include:

New York: August 26, 12:00 PM EDT

Get Ready Before Launch

There is also a useful way to prepare before Early Access begins. The new NBA 2K HQ companion app launches August 21 and gives players full access to the MyPLAYER Builder. You can create and adjust your build before Early Access, then transfer it to your console.
